{"id":1605,"date":"2018-07-16T16:45:19","date_gmt":"2018-07-16T15:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/familyofsites.bishopsconference.org.uk\/theholyland\/?p=1605"},"modified":"2019-01-11T12:10:49","modified_gmt":"2019-01-11T12:10:49","slug":"planned-demolition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/familyofsites.bishopsconference.org.uk\/testsite\/planned-demolition\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishops respond to Israeli planned demolition of Bedouin village"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In response to the planned demolition of a Bedouin village by the Israeli Government, Bishop Declan Lang, chair of the Holy Land Co-ordination and Bishop Christopher Chessun, Anglican Bishop of Southwark said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEarlier today we met with the Minister for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and shared our deep concern about the planned demolition of Khan al-Ahmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf the demolition goes ahead this would not only violate the rights of those families living in the village, but would also deal a critical blow to hopes of a viable Palestinian State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur churches are committed to upholding the human dignity of all in the Holy Land and promoting a peaceful two-state solution.
